Staying Healthy through your Thoughts, Movement and
Food:
OK, lets talk Meditation...I know, you've tried and
couldn't do it, or it didn't work. I get that! So lets simplify
it. Instead of sitting with your legs crossed and humming OM
just start being aware of your thoughts. For instance, how often
do you tell yourself "I can't do that". Start paying
attention to how often you say something negative to yourself.
After you have done this for a few days, start replacing this
negative thought with a positive one.
Have you tired Yoga? There are many different types out
there. My first suggestion is to go to the library and check out
several DVDs on the various styles to see which one calls to
you. Then try to find a class. If the instructor does
not come around to tweak your pose, try another
instructor until you find one who will. One video I have used
for my home workout which I recommend is 'Yoga for Weight Loss'
with Susanne Deason. I like her style because she shows 3
modifications for each pose.
When eating do your best to have whole foods, i.e. foods that
are in the same form as when they were grown. An easy way to eat
well balanced is to have lots and lots of different colors in
each meal, each day.
